Launching Ceremony of the Logo, Mascot, and Song for the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA) and the 21st Malaysia Paralympic Games (Para SUKMA) Sarawak 2024

The event this evening saw the Launching Ceremony of the Logo, Mascot, and Song for the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA) and the 21st Malaysia Paralympic Games (Para SUKMA) Sarawak 2024 at a prominent hotel in Kuching.

Representing Premier Sarawak, YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, the Minister of Youth, Sports, and Sarawak Entrepreneur Development, YB Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, delivered his speech at the event on behalf of YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Zohari Bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg. He mentioned that SUKMA this year will take place from August 17 to 24, involving 37 sports contested in nine divisions, namely in Kuching, Miri, Bintulu, Mukah, Sibu, Betong, Sri Aman, Serian, and Samarahan.

As for the Para SUKMA, he stated that 10 sports will be held a month after SUKMA, from September 20 to 29, around the Kuching Division only.

The ceremony was also enlivened by the launch of the official logo and mascot for the 21st SUKMA, featuring the new faces of 'Satria' and 'Satrina,' followed by the presentation of the Promotional Kit for SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024.

In attendance were the Deputy Ministers of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak, YB Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu and YB Datuk Dr Ripin Lamat, the Deputy Minister of Community Wellbeing Development Sarawak, YB Datuk Mohamad Razi Sitam, the Deputy Secretary of the Sarawak Government (Operations) Datu Hii Chang Kee, and KSU Ybhg. Ts. Dr. Nagulendran Kangayatkarasu, who delivered the speech on behalf of the Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia, YB Puan Hannah Yeoh, along with other distinguished guests.
