Kuching, 1 October 2025 – The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak (MYSED) organized the MYSED Integrity Day 2025 program on 1 October 2025 at Sheraton Hotel, Kuching. The event was officiated by The Honourable Dato Sri Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak.
A forum session titled “The Strength of Integrity in Addressing Drug and Financial Crises” was also held as part of the program, featuring four panelists from external agencies. Among the invited panelists were Mr. Wan Ahmad Nidzam bin Wan Omar, Deputy Director (Prevention) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (Sarawak Branch); Mr. Abdul Hamediee bin Ibrahim, Director of the National Anti-Drugs Agency (Sarawak Branch); Ms. Norazibah Md Rabu, General Manager of PETRONAS Sarawak; and Mr. Timothy Jamit anak Bilong, Senior Insolvency Officer II, Department of Insolvency Malaysia (Sarawak Branch).
During the Integrity Day ceremony, an oath-taking session was also held, led by Mr. Nuruddin bin Sabali. In addition, poetry recitations were presented by Ms. Fatin Khairunisa binti Zaimi and Mr. Muhammad I’zzat Azri bin Bustarie.
KUCHING, September 9 – The Human Resource Section of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED) organized the Review Session of the GEMS System, Personal Files, and Service Record Book Number 2/2025 involving all MYSED staff.
The session aimed to ensure that the service information of every officer and staff member is complete, accurate, and up to date, covering records of appointments, leave, and personal details. This process also serves as an internal control measure to enhance a more systematic and accountable human resource management.
In addition, a Urine Drug Test screening was conducted in collaboration with the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK). The screening aimed to ensure a healthy, drug-free, and disciplined working environment among ministry personnel, in line with efforts to nurture an excellent and credible public service.
Through this session, MYSED reaffirmed its continuous commitment to strengthening human resource governance while ensuring the well-being and integrity of its staff.
KUCHING, September 6 – A total of 48 staff from the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED) Sarawak participated in the State-Level Maulidur Rasul Assembly and Procession, which was held in a vibrant atmosphere at Padang Merdeka, Kuching.
This annual event was organized in conjunction with the Maulidur Rasul 1447H celebration, aimed at strengthening love and devotion to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), as well as fostering the spirit of unity among the multi-racial and multi-religious communities in the state.
The procession, which began at 7:30 a.m., saw participation from various government agencies, private organizations, uniformed bodies, and educational institutions. The MYSED contingent showcased great discipline and a strong sense of camaraderie, reflecting the ministry’s commitment to upholding noble values and embracing the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
MYSED’s involvement in the procession is also in line with the ministry’s efforts to nurture a balanced society in terms of spiritual, physical, and social well-being, in support of youth and community development aspirations in Sarawak.
Debak, August 23, 2025: Youths in Debak showed strong participation in the Belia GoBiz Debak programme, which combines entertainment, sports, and entrepreneurship to encourage greater involvement of rural youth.
Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Dr Ripin Lamat, said the programme received an overwhelming response with activities such as karaoke competitions, sports, and entrepreneurship education aimed at discovering talent and nurturing future leaders.
“When youths are involved in sports, they gain sharp minds, healthy bodies, and strong physical fitness — qualities that can help them succeed as entrepreneurs,” he said during a press conference after officiating the Belia GoBiz Debak programme in Debak last Saturday.
The two-day programme featured eight main events, including talks and exhibitions by the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), the Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS), and the Ministry of International Trade, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development (MINTRED).
A variety of exciting activities were also lined up, such as sales booths, traditional gasing spinning competition, penalty shootouts, zumba, karaoke, and fun sports, as well as a live entertainment stage featuring popular Iban artist Lucy M and Band Mix Buskers from Bungin.
Bau, 20 August 2025 — The construction of the Bau Sports Arena at Jalan Jambusan, costing RM9 million, has reached 94 percent completion. The project, which began on 6 October 2023, spans 20 months and is expected to be completed by December 2025.
The State Assemblyman (ADUN) for Tasik Biru, Dato Henry Harry Jinep, together with the Bau District Officer, Mr. Eddy anak Nayoi, and the MYSED Head of the Social Facilities Management Section Ms. Molina anak Luhum, visited the construction site of the Bau Sports Arena yesterday.
YB Dato Henry Harry Jinep stated that the project, under the Projek Rakyat initiative, will be managed and operated by the Sarawak Sports Corporation once completed. The construction of the arena is carried out in two phases: the first phase involves the development of multi-sports courts, while the second phase will be planned later, taking into account cost estimates and new scopes to meet the overall needs of the arena.
The facilities provided at the Bau Sports Arena include three futsal courts and six badminton courts. In addition, it will function as a multipurpose hall for indoor events such as dinners, seminars, training, and light sports activities like Zumba and pickleball.
Furthermore, the Bau Sports Arena will also house a boxing/muaythai training centre as well as a gymnasium.
MIRI, 7–8 August 2025 — The Innovative and Creative Group (KIK) Project Enhancement Workshop, organised by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak (MYSED), was successfully held in Miri.
The workshop brought together 40 innovators from various MYSED Divisional Offices, Civic Centres, Youth Camps, and the Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC), who will be competing in the 2026 KIK Competition. Over the two-day programme, participants received intensive exposure to knowledge, skills, and project implementation strategies to strengthen their innovative ideas.
Representing the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr. Jee Chin Fu urged all KIK innovators to fully utilise the knowledge and skills gained from the workshop. He also emphasised the importance of teamwork, strategic planning, and continuous innovation to ensure that the projects developed are not only competitive in the competition but also bring positive impact to the ministry’s services and the community.
Also present were Ms. Jenny Lee Siak Nee, Head of Policy and Development Division; Mr. Zulkarnain Ismail, Head of Sports Management Section; and Mr. Kerry Edison, Head of Policy, Transformation and Research Unit, who also served as the workshop facilitator.
The main objective of the workshop was to enhance the quality and effectiveness of KIK projects, thereby ensuring that MYSED innovators are fully prepared for next year’s competition. This approach is also in line with the ministry’s efforts to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in public service.
