MIRI, 7–8 August 2025 — The Innovative and Creative Group (KIK) Project Enhancement Workshop, organised by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak (MYSED), was successfully held in Miri.
The workshop brought together 40 innovators from various MYSED Divisional Offices, Civic Centres, Youth Camps, and the Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC), who will be competing in the 2026 KIK Competition. Over the two-day programme, participants received intensive exposure to knowledge, skills, and project implementation strategies to strengthen their innovative ideas.
Representing the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr. Jee Chin Fu urged all KIK innovators to fully utilise the knowledge and skills gained from the workshop. He also emphasised the importance of teamwork, strategic planning, and continuous innovation to ensure that the projects developed are not only competitive in the competition but also bring positive impact to the ministry’s services and the community.
Also present were Ms. Jenny Lee Siak Nee, Head of Policy and Development Division; Mr. Zulkarnain Ismail, Head of Sports Management Section; and Mr. Kerry Edison, Head of Policy, Transformation and Research Unit, who also served as the workshop facilitator.
The main objective of the workshop was to enhance the quality and effectiveness of KIK projects, thereby ensuring that MYSED innovators are fully prepared for next year’s competition. This approach is also in line with the ministry’s efforts to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in public service.
