The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development held a Handover of Duties Session for the position of Permanent Secretary from the former Permanent Secretary, Mr. Morshidi Fredrick, to the newly appointed Permanent Secretary, Mr. Dzulkornain bin Masron, at the English Tea House.
The ceremony marked a transition in the Ministry’s top management leadership, in line with efforts to strengthen governance, ensure policy continuity, and sustain the national development agenda for youth, sports, and entrepreneurship.
In his speech, Mr. Morshidi Fredrick expressed his deepest appreciation and gratitude to all ministry staff for the cooperation, commitment, and support extended to him throughout his tenure. He also conveyed his confidence that the new leadership would continue to uphold excellence and further strengthen the implementation of the Ministry’s programmes and initiatives for the benefit of the people.
Meanwhile, in his acceptance speech, Mr. Dzulkornain bin Masron expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in him and affirmed his commitment to continuing existing policies and strategic plans. He also emphasized his intention to work closely with all levels of ministry personnel and stakeholders to empower youth development, advance the sports sector, and invigorate the entrepreneurial ecosystem, particularly among youths.
The Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak, YB Dato Sri Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, in his speech, also recorded his highest appreciation and gratitude to Mr. Morshidi Fredrick for his service, contributions, and leadership during his tenure as Permanent Secretary. He further extended his congratulations to Mr. Dzulkornain bin Masron on his appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to continue the Ministry’s agenda and aspirations.
The ceremony was witnessed by YB Dato Sri Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, along with the Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, YB Datuk Dr. Ripin bin Lamat. Also in attendance were senior officers of the Ministry, MYSED Divisional Office Heads, Civic Hall Managers, and Principals of Youth Camps.
The event concluded with the official handover of documents and a photo session, symbolizing the transition of responsibilities and trust.
